Inset - Monday 11th January 2021
Sun 03 Jan 2021Afternoon everyone,
I know that school reopening has caused some people a great deal of anxiety. I can assure you that we are constantly reviewing our health and safety guidelines to ensure the children, and staff, are as safe as possible. Similarly, I have spent a large chunk of today discussing our approach to remote, and blended, learning with Ms Chapleo. Whilst our current approach is strong we want to develop it even further in case we go into lock down again. To achieve that, we will hold an Inset day on Monday 11th January.
Best wishes and I hope to see all of you tomorrow.

What to do if your child tests positive for Covid over the Christmas holidays.
Fri 18 Dec 2020Morning everyone,
I hope you are all well and looking forward to starting the Christmas holiday.
I thought it would be worthwhile outlining what is expected of you, and school, in the case of your child testing positive over the Christmas break.
I will be checking my emails up to, and including, Christmas Eve. So, if your child does test positive in this timeframe would you please email me at headteacher@burford.nottingham.sch.uk I will check my emails once a day and will ring you for a follow up conversation, as I may need to let other parents know and tell them to isolate.
If your child tests positive from Christmas day onwards, there is no need to email me. You simply need to tell school when we return on the 4th January.
If you have any concerns requiring support from social care, their phone number is 0115 876 4800. If it is an emergency, please ring 999.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
Best wishes,
Mr Farrington -

Β
Just a quick reminder that school will be closed on Friday 11th December to allow our teachers to prepare forΒ 'Shakespeare week' that will take place during the first week of January. Whilst our approach will be different because of COVID, 'Shakespeare week' will still culminate with a whole school film that you will be able to view.

Remote Learning
Mon 23 Nov 2020Morning everyone,
Β
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Β
I am hoping you can help school make our remote learning offer as robust as possible. If your child has to self isolate, please tell the office as soon as possible. The office will then contact your child's class teacher who will send work each day. Should that not happen, please contact your child's class teacher, ideally via Dojo. . If that fails, please contact me onΒ headteacher@burford.nottingham.sch.uk
Β
Everyone in school is keen to ensure learning continues when children have to self isolate. On the whole, that has been very successful but I want parents to act as an extra safeguard and please tell us straight away if work does not get to you (I know this has happened in one case and I am keen to avoid it happening again).
Β
Thank you for your support and best wishes,
Β

Transform Trust CEO - Covid-19 Update to Parents/Carers
Wed 04 Nov 2020Transform Trust CEO - Covid-19 Update to Parents/Carers
Β
Since the late summer resumption in September, School has been prepared for managing Covid-19 cases as they become more commonplace in our local community. In line with Government and Public Health guidance, we will be asking staff and pupil bubbles to isolate whenever symptoms or cases appear. This is designed to minimise the impact on the wider school community. We continue to communicate to all affected parents/carers directly through various means such as phone, email, Class Dojo and Seesaw and this will ensure children are isolated for the necessary time.
Β
We wish to ensure education continues even when pupil isolations are necessary. Your school has made provision for delivering this to all children at home.
Β
I want to share how proud I am of the school staff who are working tirelessly and courageously to support your children.
Β
Finally let me thank you, our parents/carers, for your continued support to the school during these particularly challenging times.
Β
Stay safe.

Adults in school wearing face coverings and adhering to the 2 metre distancing
Mon 05 Oct 2020Hello everyone,
We hope you are all keeping happy and healthy.
As you know, our number 1 priority at Burford has been, and continues to be, keeping everyone as safe and healthy as possible. So far, all of our bubbles remain open - and we have almost reached half term!
Thank you to you all for helping us to maintain our health and safety procedures. It has been a joy to see so many happy faces enjoying being back at school.
We just wanted to update you on some slight tweaks that we are making to how adults in school conduct themselves so that you are not alarmed when you see us wearing face masks.
We are keen to learn and refine what we are doing as we move forward, and wish to adopt the same approach as other schools in the Transform network.
It is very rare that we admit any visitors into school at all, but, on these rare occasions (e.g. special needs consultations or emergency work on our school boilers), they will be required to follow our school policies.
We would also appreciate it if adults waiting for children at drop off and pick up could wear masks and keep 2m apart. (Please bear in mind that some people cannot wear face coverings due to invisible difficulties).
We want to ensure that we maintain a GOLD STANDARD when it comes to health and safety, which will mean that all of our bubbles stay open and we can continue to learn together.
