  The following learning platforms have been launched today. They can be used alongside your teachers lessons:

   

  Launch of the Oak National Academy online classroom and resource hub:

  The sector-led Oak National Academy has today launched its online classroom and resource hub. The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people.

  Launch of BBC Bitesize

  The BBC has today launched an education package across TV and online, featuring celebrities and teachers, helping to keep children learning at home and supporting parents.

• Latest update on FSM Vouchers

  It's great to wake up on a Friday morning to good news. Mrs Flowers has successfully secured all the FSM vouchers. You should receive an email from Edenred on behalf of the DfE which will contain your voucher/eCode. You will initially receive two vouchers. They can take up to 48 hours to land in your in box, so please do not panic if they are not with you yet. Should they fail to arrive by Tuesday please email Zoe.Flowers@burford.nottingham.sch.uk Please make sure you have checked your spam/junk mail box first. 

   

  There are a small number of parents who have not supplied us with email addresses. We will post FSM vouchers to you.

   

  In light of yesterday's announcement, Mrs Flowers has ordered a further three weeks of vouchers. You will receive your new vouchers every Monday for each week we are off school.

• UPDATE on Free School Meal Vouchers

  Morning all,

   

  I had the following update about FSM vouchers earlier today:

   

  'The free school meal voucher system has been upgraded over the bank holiday weekend. We are working closely with our supplier Edenred to resolve any outstanding issues quickly. We thank schools for their patience while the system is expanded to meet the high demand.'

   

  Mrs Flowers has been working incredibly hard to ensure all our parents receive the vouchers they are entitled to as soon as possible. However, she is running up against the same problem that all schools in the country are experiencing - the system keeps crashing and/or freezing because of the high demand. She will keep on trying and as soon as we get a break through I will update here and on the website.

• Free School Meal Vouchers

  Hi everyone,

   

  I received some great news earlier today. The government have announced that they will fund free school meals for the two weeks of the Easter holidays for all those children who are normally eligible for Free School Meals during term time.

   

  Mrs Flowers is currently organizing the distribution of the vouchers. The system has just crashed unfortunately so please bear with us. Your FSM vouchers will be sent electronically so please keep an eye on your emails (inbox/spam folders too) for your vouchers. If you have not provided Mrs Flowers with your email address, please do (Zoe.flowers@burford.nottingham.sch.uk) If this is impossible, your vouchers will be put in the mail by a staff member in school.

• Class Dojo

  Please make sure your child logs onto Class Dojo every day from Monday 20th April. Their teachers will be posting daily updates so that they can keep in touch with you and provide extra home learning activities.

• Updated Safeguarding Policy - 1st April 2020

  It is important that all schools have Safeguarding procedures in place during the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr Farrington has produced a Safeguarding Annex which outlines what Burford's safeguarding policy is during this school closure. I have attached the Annex to this update, however for a full version (larger version), can be found in the Parents section under Safeguarding.
