Vision & Values
Our vision is summed up in the 3A's - Attend, Aspire and Achieve - which is our school motto.
Our motto is brought to life in school in the following ways:-
Attend
We support every child's right to an education and have high expectations of attendance.
You have to 'be in it to win it'. To get the most out of our school offer, pupils need to be in school on time every day.
We believe good attendance at school sets children on the right path for success in later life.
We have high expectations of behaviour, underpinned by an ethos of celebration, to create a happy and safe environment children want to come to.
Our enriching curriculum supports our expectations of attendance through not wanting to miss out.
Our environment is a priority so children feel a sense of belonging and care at Burford.
- Good attendance at Burford is more than just turning up. We focus on engagement and strong relationships so children are happy and engaged learners.
Aspire
We believe there are no limits to what our children can achieve. However we also acknowledge that this ambition and aspiration needs fostering for many pupils.
We support children to aspire to be the best that they can, both personally and academically.
Through the curriculum and enrichment opportunities, we open eyes and push boundaries beyond pupils' personal experiences.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that enables children to develop ambition and staff to spot talent.
We ensure representation is a focus with the curriculum so all children see themselves within it.
We have high expectations.
Achieve
As a staff, we work tirelessly to ensure there are always high standards of teaching and learning in all classrooms.
We deliver a high quality, inspiring curriculum which supports children in achieving their potential.
Where children need extra support, we make adaptations to provision.
We set group and individual targets that are realistic yet ambitious for our pupils.
Every second seconds at Burford. We recognise the importance of our job in ensuring our pupils are ready for their next stage in education and life.
