Music
Throughout our music curriculum at Burford, we want children to feel a sense of achievement within our music curriculum. We aim to provide opportunities for children to compose, listen to, evaluate, analyse and perform music. This is supported by a wide curriculum offer.
We provide opportunities for children to learn instruments, create their own music and develop a deeper understanding of music from across the world, enhancing their cultural capital. We want children to feel excitement and build their confidence in order for them to aspire to have a life long love of music and potentially have a successful music career. We support this by offering extra-curricular activities and opportunities for children to learn an instrument. We want all children to develop a curiosity for the subject and we believe that our curriculum provides this as an opportunity.
At Burford we use the Kapow scheme of work to support the teaching of music.
