  • IT IS TIME FOR YOUR CHILD'S ANNUAL FLU VACCINATION - THURSDAY 4 NOVEMBER 2021

Wed 06 Oct 2021 Mrs Raynor

Flu can be a very unpleasant illness in children causing fever, stuffy nose, dry cough, sore throat, aching muscles and joints, and extreme tiredness. This can last several days or more.

Having the flu vaccine will protect your child from what can be a very nasty illness in children, and will reduce the chance of others in your family getting flu from your child. This year, helping to protect your family against flu is particularly important as COVID-19 is still circulating.

SAIS (School Aged Immunisation Team) are visiting Burford Primary School on Thursday 4 November 2021. To ensure your child is included in the vaccination programme, you will have to complete a consent form for each child. Please copy the following link into your web browser to access this form:

    www.nottinghamshireimmunisations.co.uk/Forms/Flu

Please complete your online form by Monday 11 October 2021, the unique code for Burford Primary School is NG143060. The option to consent or decline the vaccination is at the end of the questionnaire, so please complete the form even if you do not want your child to have the vaccination.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school office, tel: 0115 915 1560, if you would like further information or guidance.

  • Staffing update

Wed 06 Oct 2021 Shaun Farrington

    Afternoon all,

I hope you're having a lovely day and are enjoying the sunshine.

I am writing to update you on some staffing changes that will soon come into effect:

Year 1 - as many of you know, Mrs Fortescue will be leaving us at the end of this half term to go on maternity leave. I am sure you will all join me in wishing her all the very best for her new arrival. The timing Mrs Fortescue's departure was almost perfect as Miss Ashurst is returning from maternity leave at the end of December. Miss Ashurst will teach Year 1 from the end of December until the end of the academic year. I know the children in Year 1 will be sad to see Mrs Fortescue leave but I am sure Miss Ashurst's imminent return will soften that blow.

Mrs Humphreys will remain in Year 1 throughout this time and will teach alongside a new colleague until Miss Ashurst's return.

Mrs McDonnell is leaving us at the end of this half term, after 14 years at Burford. Miss White is covering for Mrs McDonnell at the moment and will continue in this role for the time being.

Miss Spencer will remain teaching in nursery for the whole of this academic year and Miss Kendrick will remain in F2 for the same period.

I hope I have set out what is soon to happen clearly but please feel free to ask me any questions, should that not be the case.

    Best wishes,

    Mr Farrington
