Pupil Premium and Covid 'Catch Up' spend plan

Pupil Premium is additional money given to schools to help certain groups of children do well. The children who qualify for Pupil Premium funding are those that have been entitled to free school meals over the past six years, any child who is in Looked After Care or children whose parent(s) are in the armed forces. Reserach indicates that these children find it harder to keep up with their peers in school and the extra money is designed to help with this issue.

The way we spend our Pupil Premium money is tied closely to our vision of what makes a great education, as well as research into the best ways to successfully help children eligible for this money. So, for example we believe, and research supports this, that the best ways we can help all our children, including our Pupil Premium children, is to offer them quality first teaching as well as wide a variety of enrichment opportunities as possible.

Covid 'Catch Up' is additional money the government has given to all schools to help children make up lost learning time caused by Lockdown. You can see how we are using this money in the plan below.
